Following the news of Luhan’s upcoming acting debut, it has been announced that EXO’s Baekhyun will be taking on his first role in a musical alongside Super Junior’s Kyuhyun and SHINee’s Onew.
The musical, which is based on the 1952 American movie “Singin’ in the Rain”, is the first musical produced by SM Entertainment through SM C&C.
Baekhyun will be playing the role of the main character Don Lockwood, a talented young actor who becomes a star overnight and falls in love with an unknown actress called Kathy.
The musical will be shown at Chungmu Art Hall’s Grand Theater in Seoul starting from June 5 till August 3.
EXO member Luhan will be taking on his first acting challenge.
Chinese media announced on the 23rd that Luhan has been cast in the movie “Back to 20” (“重返20歲”) and will be filming together with Gui Ya Lei, Yang Zishan, and Wilson Chen. Luhan’s agency, SM Entertainment, has also confirmed to TVReport that Luhan will be making an appearance in the movie.
According to Chinese media, “Back to 20” is a fantasy movie about a 70-year-old woman who suddenly becomes 20 years old again. The movie is the Chinese version of the hit Korean film, “수상한 그녀” (“Miss Granny”).
China’s entertainment news portal sina.com revealed that the child star actors, Yang Jasan and Jin Baekrim, have also been cast in the movie. Luhan will be playing the grandson of Yang Zishan, the main female character. A representative has stated that the movie is set to start filming on May 20 unless any problems should occur. SM Entertainment also told TVReport that they are currently adjusting EXO-M’s promotional activities to accommodate the start of Luhan’s filming schedule.
